Jokisha Brown, was shot and killed at an Atlanta strip mall while
sitting in her black Mercedes SUV car on Friday July 1st just a day before
turning 36. The mother of a teenage son was waiting to get her make-up done
when a gunman walked up to her car and shot her dead through the passenger
seat.
Jokisha had been involved in an abusive relationship which she recently walked away from..
“She went through a
hard, very, very hard time with this breakup. She steadily voiced it, she
feared for her life that something might happen to her.” one of her friends
told WSB-TV
She had also once
escaped a violent kidnapping attempt by jumping from a moving vehicle. Her ex,
Alfredo Capote is the chief suspect in her murder but he hasn’t been named as a
suspect as nothing has linked him to the killing yet. But police have been
investigating him since April for the rape and kidnapping of Jokisha.
