With the NVIS scheme, smugglers will no longer be able to register their vehicles with FRSC without payment of Customs duty - Kemi Adeosun

With the National Vehicle Identification Scheme, complete sanity will be infused to the system of vehicle registration in Nigeria

Customs, FIRS, Road Safety and Motor Licensing Authority collaborates on Vehicle Identification Number Scheme.

This means issuance of new plate numbers will be synchronized with duty payment receipt.
